Use of Story Poles
Prior to construction, story poles can be requested or required to depict the outline of your project for view assessment. In some neighborhoods, story poles are erected to depict the outline of a proposed home addition, garage or landscaping, merely to satisfy a neighbor or a home owners association. In other communities, story poles can be required by city ordinance, Architectural committee, a home owners association and need to be certified by a licensed land surveyor, civil engineer or architect.
